The Singapore Translational and Clinical Research in Psychosis (STCRP) is a bench-to-bedside research programme that is funded by the National Research Foundation of Singapore as part of the national strategy to build a strong translational and clinical research capability. 

A special funding exercise was carried out with the following objectives:   

To build up a translational research programme in each of the following areas of cancer, metabolic syndromes, neuroscience, infectious diseases, and eye diseases; that has the potential to be among the leaders internationally. 

To coordinate and leverage on the best strengths in Singapore, and incorporate strong investigators from across Singapore, and optimally structured to strengthen and coordinate the full chain of research capabilities within that disease area. 

The Grant in Neuroscience has been awarded to Institute of Mental Health Singapore which is the leading Host Institute. 

The fund is administered through the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) of Singapore. The total amount of funding is 25 million SGD, and will be for a period of five years commencing July 2008 and hence will end in June 2013. 

The Lead Investigator of this Flagship Programme is Associate Professor Siow-Ann Chong from the Institute of Mental Health, Singapore.
